If you do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, please consider taking a brief moment to prayerfully review God’s Plan of Salvation and join us for Evening Worship Service. Bring your family and friends. There is plenty of room for everybody!

Prayer Meeting
Apr 1 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Prayer Meeting

James 5:13-16 (ESV)
13  Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. 14  Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15  And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16  Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

When:

Wednesdays Evenings 7:00pm-8:00pm

Where:

Sanctuary

Why:

Jesus commands us to pray. We do so not only in obedience to Him. It is a natural overflow of our love and worship of Him and our love, compassion, and concern for others. Join us as we fellowship together to pray for one another, the community, our nation, and the world. Afterwards, Bro. Michael shares a devotion/Bible study designed to improve our relationship with Jesus Christ and draw us closer to Him.

Deacon’s Meeting
Apr 5 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Deacon's Meeting

Acts 6:1-4 (ESV)
1  Now in these days when the disciples were increasing in number, a complaint by the Hellenists arose against the Hebrews because their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution. 2  And the twelve summoned the full number of the disciples and said, “It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables. 3  Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty. 4  But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

When:

Sunday Evening 4:00pm-%:00pm
(The Sunday BEFORE the 2nd Wednesday – the Church Business Meeting – of each month)

Where:

Fellowship Hall

Why:

The term “deacon” is derived from the Greek word diakonos, which is usually translated “servant” or “minister”. In the New Testament, the noun is used to refer to ministers of the gospel (Colossians 1:23), ministers of Christ (1 Timothy 4:6), servants of God (2 Corinthians 6:4), those who follow Jesus (John 12:26), and in many other similar ways. The Deacons of Double Springs Baptist Church are recognized by the church body as being ordained and called by God to be biblically qualified to hold the office of Deacon and serve the church in that capacity.

WMU’s Meeting
Apr 5 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
WMU's Meeting

James 2:14-17 (ESV)
14  What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15  If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16  and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? 17  So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

When:

Sunday Evening 4:00pm-5:00pm
(The Sunday BEFORE the 2nd Wednesday – the Church Business Meeting – of each month)

Where:

Family Life Center

Why:

“In 1888, a handful of women dedicated to the cause of missions founded Woman’s Missionary Union. Since that time, WMU has become the largest Protestant organization for women in the world, with a membership of approximately 1 million. WMU also was the first and remains the largest body of organized laity in the Southern Baptist Convention.

From the beginning, WMU’s main purpose has been to educate and involve women, girls, and preschoolers in the cause of Christian missions. It accomplishes these purposes primarily through age-level organizations.”Southern Baptist Convention – WMU
