Scripture Reading

Philippians 3:8-11 (ESV)
8  Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9  and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— 10  that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11  that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.

Hymns

Have Faith in God (Hymn 405 - 1991 Baptist Hymnal)

Have Faith in God 405:1-2,4 (1991 Baptist Hymnal)
 Have faith in God when your pathway is lonely,
He sees and knows all the way you have trod;
Never alone are the least of His children;
Have faith in God, have faith in God.
Have faith in God, He's on His throne;
Have faith in God, He wathes o'er His own;
He cannot fail, He must prevail;
Have faith in God, have faith in God.
 Have faith in God when your prayers are unanswered,
Your earnest plea He will never forget;
Wait on the Lord, trust His Word and be patient,
Have faith in God, He'll answer yet.
Have faith in God, He's on His throne;
Have faith in God, He wathes o'er His own;
He cannot fail, He must prevail;
Have faith in God, have faith in God.
 Have faith in God tho' all else fail about you;
Have faith in God, He provides for His own;
He cannot fail tho' all kingdoms shall perish,
He rules, He reigns upon His throne.
Have faith in God, He's on His throne;
Have faith in God, He wathes o'er His own;
He cannot fail, He must prevail;
Have faith in God, have faith in God.

When the Morning Comes (Hymn 522 - 1991 Baptist Hymnal)

When the Morning Comes 522:1 (1991 Baptist Hymnal)
 Trials dark on every hand, and we cannot understand
All the ways that God would lead us to that blessed promised land;
But He'll guide us with His eye, and we'll follow till we die;
We will understand it better by and by.
By and by, when the morning comes,
When the saints of God are gathered home,
We will tell the story how we've overcome;
We will understand it better by and by.

Down at the Cross (Hymn 140 - 1991 Baptist Hymnal)

Down at the Cross 140:1,4 (1991 Baptist Hymnal)
 Down at the cross where my Savior died,
Down where from cleansing from sin I cried,
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His name!
Glory to His name, Glory to His name:
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His name!
 Come to this fountain so rich and sweet,
Cast thy poor soul at the Savior's feet;
Plunge in today, and be made complete;
Glory to His name!
Glory to His name, Glory to His name:
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His name!
